8 Reasons Why Your Pet Is Your Best Friend
Those of us who have had the good fortune of having a pet in our lives know that nothing in the world can ever top our pet’s love for us. From sitting right with us when we’re low, to dancing with us when we’re happy about that date going right, our fur baby has been there through it all. A pet’s love is unconditional and pure. We may not speak the same language, but we’re no less than siblings. In this list, we put down the reasons why your pets are your best friends!
1. They love you, unconditionally
They don’t care what you wear, or what you look like, or how rich or poor you are. They love you for exactly who you are, and never let you forget how lucky they are to have you in their life. They teach you how to love, and that’s really the greatest gift of life. Our pets are living breathing examples of the epic quote from Juno that goes, “Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, or handsome, the right person will still think the sun shines out your ass. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with”. No denying that our pets are exactly that right person!
2. They are always there for you
You don’t break up, fight, divorce, have differences, get bored or move on in life. Your pet is the one you’ll always come home to no matter what life puts you two through. That’s some serious kind of commitment, that we can all agree on, humans can barely keep up with. Your pet will always be the face you wake up to, the ear to all your rants and the best hugs and cuddle provider ever.
3. They protect you
One of the best things about your pet is that subconsciously, they sense danger way before you do. They realize by your actions if you’re uncomfortable and need to be taken out of a conversation, or if you’re in a place where you shouldn’t be, and they drag you out of it. They can fight the world for you. No wonder why so many dawgies in history have been awarded for their valiance in troubled situations. Even if it’s just a friend who makes you uncomfortable, or if a thief in the middle of the night, your pet will protect you with everything he has.

4. They give you the best cuddles
If you’re low on the cuddle meter, they know just how to fill it back up to the brim. Be it your couch, your car, or out on the street, your pet believes that the best place to cuddle is everywhere. And when they are in your arms, that’s when they are the happiest; and you can always see it in their eyes.
5. They know when you’re down
Like Doris Day perfectly said, “When you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source”. They won’t let you go through anything alone. They may even start to bring you their favorite things just to see a smile on your face. Even when you feel worthless, they’ll make you feel like a zillion dollars, and won’t quit until they are successful.
6. They’re always happy to see you
That tail tells you everything you need to know about how much your pet loves you. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours, whenever you come back home, you’ll always be welcomed with intense licking, tail wagging, cuddles and that feeling of true reciprocated love. Also, you can never really overstay your stay.
7. They teach you little things (the most important ones) about life
Having a pet teaches you really small, but the most important things about life. Like, life is short, so get all the cuddles you can. Or if you love someone let them know loud and clear while there is time. That sometimes your patient ear and presence is the best advice you can give someone when they are low; and that it’s never a bad time to munch on some treats!
8. They inspire you to be a better person
They teach us so much about our own lives, from the little things that they do for us. By being there for us, they teach us how to be there for others. They show us that compassion, gratitude must always be felt. That on all opportunities, we must never be afraid to show it. They teach us how to protect the ones we love, and that sometimes when all words fail, that our presence is enough to erase all the sadness there is.
Pets are undoubtedly the best friends humans could have ever been blessed with.
