8 Reasons Why Your Pet Is Your Best Friend
For those of you who have had the good fortune of having a pet around them, you’d know that nothing in the world can ever top your pet’s love for you. From sitting right with you when you were all out of words, to dancing with you when you were so happy about that date going right, your fur baby has been there through it all. A pet’s love is unconditional and pure. You and your him may not speak the same language, but you’re no less than siblings. In this list, we put down the reasons why your pets are your best friends!
1. They love you, unconditionally
They don’t care what you wear, or what you look like, or if you’re rich or poor. They love you for exactly who you are, and never let you forget how lucky they are to have you in their life. They teach you how to love, and that’s really the greatest gift of life.
2. They are always there for you
When Juno in the movie, asks her father about who a right person is, he says, “Good mood, bad mood, what have you–, the right one always thinks the sun shines out of your ass.” And this is exactly what our pets do. They’re always there to listen to our woes and offer the best advice. It is rightly said that the best therapist comes on 4 paws.
3. They protect you
The greatest thing about your pet is that subconsciously, they sense danger way before you do. They realize by your actions if you’re uncomfortable and need to be taken out of a conversation, or if you’re in a place where you shouldn’t be, and they drag you out of it. They can fight the world for you. No wonder why so many dawgies in history have been awarded for their valiance in troubled situations. Even if it’s just a friend who makes you uncomfortable, or if its a robber in the middle of the night, your pet will protect you with everything he has.
4. They give you the best cuddles
If you’re low on your cuddle meter, they know just how to fill it back up to the brim. Be it your couch, or your car, your pet believes that the best place to cuddle is everywhere. And when they are in your arms, that’s when they are the happiest; you can always see it in their eyes.
5. They know when you’re down
They may not speak the words of comfort you need, but they’ll come and sit next to you. Even if your world is crashing, and you feel like falling apart into a million pieces, your baby will stay beside you through it all. They won’t let you go through anything alone. They may even start bringing you your favorite things just to see a smile on your face. Even when you think you’re not worth a penny, they’ll make you feel like a zillion dollars, and won’t quit until they are successful.
6. They’re always happy to see you
Have you seen how jumpy and excited they are to see you? That tail tells you everything you need to know about how much your pet loves you. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours, whenever you come back home, you’ll always be welcomed with intense licking and tail wagging. They’re the real superheroes who turn our houses into loving homes.
7. They teach you little things (the most important ones) about life
Having a pet teaches you really small, but the most important things about life. Like, life is short, so get all the cuddles you can. Or while helping your grandma with her glasses, or bringing the newspaper to your grandfather, they make you realize how these little gestures mean so much more than we think they do. They even start barking so loud that everyone eventually as to give up the fight, and like always, your pet saves the day, and your relationships.
8. They inspire you to be a better person
They teach us so much about our own lives, from the little things that they do for us. By being there for us, they teach us how to be there for others. They show us that gratitude must always be felt and that on all opportunities, we must never be afraid to show it. They teach us how to protect the ones we love, and that sometimes when all words fail, that our presence is enough to erase all the sadness there is.
Pets are undoubtedly the best friends humans could have ever been blessed with.
